Flow of Life: Balancing the Water Element in Your Body & Mind

Water Element in the Human Body

In my previous blog, I elaborated on how the fire element works in our body and how we can balance or enhance it to help it function at its full potential. Today, I will try to explain the water element to the best of my knowledge and understanding.

Water Element in Your Body

What is the water element in our body?

As we all know, the human body is made up of approximately 70% water. This water exists in different forms such as blood, saliva, sweat, urine, and other bodily fluids. Even hormonal imbalances can be a result of disturbances in the water element. A slight imbalance in any of these areas can lead to significant health issues, mood swings, or emotional breakdowns.

That’s why staying hydrated is especially important during stressful situations or in hot weather both are closely connected to the water element.

How do you know if you need to balance the water element in your body?

There isn’t one specific condition that signals a need to work on your water element. However, I’ll share some common symptoms that may indicate an imbalance in water energy:

Health-Related Symptoms

One of the most common signs of an imbalanced water element is frequent mood swings, which can eventually lead to issues such as high blood pressure, anxiety, difficulty in emotional expression, and recurring headaches.

On a physical level, medical problems connected to the water element may include:

  • Heart-related conditions
  • Blood pressure irregularities
  • Anemia
  • Urinary issues
  • Sleep disorders
  • Premature aging

These issues arise when the natural flow and distribution of water energy in the body is disturbed, impacting both physical and emotional health.

Other Symptoms

Beyond physical symptoms, an imbalanced water element can also disrupt the flow of harmony in life. This might manifest as:

  • Financial instability
  • Major relationship challenges, especially with close or loved ones
  • Emotional expressions like shaky hands, excessive sweating, a trembling voice, and an ongoing state of fear or insecurity

This imbalance is often associated with a blocked or underactive Throat Chakra (Vishuddha Chakra). As a result, a person may experience:

  • Difficulty being vulnerable
  • Inability to express themselves clearly or authentically
  • Emotional rigidity
  • A feeling of being “weighed down” or disconnected from flow

How to Start Working on It?

Since an imbalanced water element can affect not only your emotional and spiritual well-being but also your physical health, it’s important to start clearing emotional baggage whether from the present, past, or even deeply stored memories. Releasing this stagnant energy can greatly improve the quality of your life and relationships.

Below are some simple rituals to help strengthen and balance the water element in your aura:

Begin your healing with the most basic practice: drink enough water. Start your day by drinking water immediately after waking up.

You can also try energizing your water to connect it more deeply with your energy field:

  • Moon Water Ritual: On each Full Moon, place a glass or bowl of water under the moonlight overnight. Sip it the next morning with intention and gratitude.
  • Silver-Charged Water: Store water overnight in a silver glass and drink it first thing in the morning. If you don’t have a silver glass, use a clear glass and place a silver item (like a silver coin or ring) inside the water.

Important: Avoid using steel, plastic, or any other metal containers for this ritual. These materials can interfere with the energetic purity of the water—a big NO  please.

Moon meditation is a powerful remedy to improve the overall balance of your chakras. During each full moon, you can charge water by setting an intention through affirmations. Use a clear glass bottle only — avoid plastic, metal, or terracotta containers. Place the bottle outside or on a windowsill overnight, making sure to bring it inside before sunrise. Trust me, there’s nothing more amazing than this practice.

3. Morning Walk Barefoot
Walk barefoot in the morning, especially on days when dew drops cover the grass. If you’re unable to go for a walk, gently touch dew-covered plants and express your gratitude to nature. Walking on green grass with dew is a beautiful way to balance Mercury energy and heal the throat chakra.

4. Connect with Water Bodies
Spend time near natural water sources like fountains, lakes, or rivers. Sit quietly, observe the water with love and gratitude, and meditate if possible. Water has a calming energy that supports emotional healing and inner peace.

5. Add Juicy Fruits to Your Diet
Incorporate juicy and hydrating fruits into your diet, such as citrus fruits (lemon, orange), watermelon, cucumber, grapes, apples, coconut water, and purple-coloured fruits. These nourish the body and energetically support chakra alignment.

6. Use Essential Oils and Fragrances
Certain essential oils can aid chakra healing: jasmine, lavender, sage, eucalyptus, sandalwood. Use them in diffusers, baths, or as part of your meditation practice.

7. Gratitude Journal & Throat Chakra Healing
Maintain a gratitude journal and focus on throat chakra practices. The Ra Ma Da Sa meditation is especially powerful for deep chakra healing and alignment.

8. Healing Crystals
Crystals that support chakra healing include pearl, moonstone, peridot, aquamarine, lapis lazuli, rose quartz, labradorite, and blue lace agate. Carry them, meditate with them, or keep them near you to benefit from their energy.

What Changes Can You Expect by Balancing the Water Element?

1. Natural Facial Glow
You’ll notice a natural radiance and glow on your face. Signs of aging such as wrinkles, dullness, and tired eyes will start to reduce. Your skin will appear healthier and more vibrant.

2. Improved Organ & Hormonal Health
Balancing the water element enhances liver and kidney function, leading to better hormonal balance. Your body will naturally detoxify more efficiently, releasing not just physical toxins but also emotional baggage and stored trauma.
