I have recently shared my thoughts on the three elements, and now I want to focus on the last two: air and space energy. I chose to write about these two together because they are the most subtle, alive, and transcendental of all the elements. Closely connected, they play a vital role in helping us reach higher states of consciousness and spiritual alignment.
The Air Element

The air element resides within the human body in the form of oxygen, or what yogic philosophy refers to as Pran Vayu—the vital life force. Breathing is not merely a physical act; it is the foundation of our existence. When we begin to observe and become conscious of our breath, we enter the first stage of yogic awareness and self-realization.
Air brings stability and balance to our organs. It regulates the flow of blood and energy throughout the body, allowing us not only to live but to truly feel alive. This is why air is known as Praan Vayu—because it represents life itself, extending beyond the simple act of inhaling and exhaling. Activities such as sneezing, yawning, and breathing are all expressions of the air element within us.
When your body and mind feel light and expansive during yogic practices, it is a sign that the air element is awakening. Your energy points (chakras) also respond to this activation. The air element governs your intellect, awareness, and emotional balance. It is the force behind your feelings of love, joy, and connection, and it is deeply associated with the heart chakra (Anahata)—the center of compassion and harmony.
Air also influences communication and the ability to express oneself clearly, even though it is not directly linked to the throat chakra. Moreover, our skin and senses are governed by the air element. The skin acts like a living sponge—it breathes, absorbs, and responds to the environment. In this way, our whole body is constantly in communion with the air element, exchanging energy with the world around us.
The Space Element

The space element (Akasha) is the most subtle and expansive of all. It represents the infinite, the unmanifest, and the divine consciousness that connects everything in existence. Within the human body, space energy expresses itself through the Sahasrara Chakra—the crown chakra—located just above the head.
When we move from self-consciousness to a state of oneness, we begin to experience the transcendental quality of space. This is the stage where meditation no longer requires effort—it begins to happen naturally. As soon as you close your eyes, awareness expands beyond the boundaries of the physical body, and you begin to perceive existence in its pure, boundless form.
Space energy flows through the ears, nose, mouth, and the Sahasrara chakra, forming a subtle channel that extends from the crown to the base of the spine. It radiates throughout the body as a brilliant light, strengthening and purifying your aura.
From a scientific perspective, this can be compared to the electromagnetic field that surrounds and flows through the human body. The more you learn to channel and harmonize this space energy, the stronger and brighter your aura becomes. This field is what reflects your spiritual vitality and the depth of your inner peace.
Feeling the Presence of Air and Space Energies
You can begin to sense these energies in simple yet profound ways:
1. Feeling the Air Element
Start with your breath. Take slow, deep inhalations and exhalations. Observe how far the breath travels within you—does it reach only your lungs, your belly, or all the way to the base of your spine? This awareness reveals where your energy flow is open or blocked. A chakra that feels heavy or restricted may simply need more attention and breath.
2. Feeling the Space Element through Inner Sound
Close your eyes and take a few deep, conscious breaths. Gently withdraw your attention from the outer world. Now, place your palms over your ears and allow the external sounds to fade away. Within the silence, you may begin to hear a subtle vibration — the sound of Aum, or perhaps even your heartbeat.
This is the vibration of space energy… vast, free, and infinite. It is the sound of existence itself, resonating within you. Listening to it connects you directly with the cosmic rhythm that sustains all life.
3. Feeling the Space Energy through the Palms
Another simple yet powerful way to experience space energy is through your hands. Rub your palms together until they feel warm, then slowly separate them, keeping them parallel and facing each other.
Notice the sensation between your palms — it might feel like a gentle bounce, a magnetic pull, or a subtle push of energy. What you are feeling is the space energy field — the same life force that fills the universe and flows within and around you. With regular practice, this a It is very important to understand how we can channel these elements within our body and aura to experience greater consciousness, awareness, and presence. By doing so, we become more anchored in our thoughts, mind, and soul. All forms of energy work — such as Reiki, past life regression, cord cutting, and angel therapy — are powerful tools that support this process once we begin to awaken to these energies.
Now lets find out how we can channelize these energies in our everyday life with some very simple and basic practices:
1. Meditation:
The first and most essential practice is meditation. There are many types of meditation, but the simplest and most powerful way to begin is by closing your eyes and focusing on your breath. Bring your awareness to your breathing — inhale deeply, hold for a moment, and exhale slowly. Repeat this five times, allowing your body and mind to relax. Then, shift your awareness to the center of your head and visualize a light entering through your crown chakra, flowing gently into your body. Feel this light spreading within and around you, forming a protective shield of energy. This shield acts like an energetic immune layer, keeping you in higher vibrations and safeguarding you from unwanted energies. During this practice, you may begin to see colors such as green, purple, yellow, silver, or gold. In the beginning, you might only see darkness — and that is perfectly natural. With regular practice, your inner vision will become clearer, and your connection to higher energy will deepen.
Your awareness deepens, helping you feel more connected, expanded, and aligned with the cosmos.
2. Pranayam
Pranayam is a powerful practice that enhances the flow of oxygen throughout the body and revitalizes every cell with life energy. As the name suggests, Pranayam means the expansion of praan — the vital life force. It awakens the consciousness and connects you to your higher self. Once this connection is established, you begin to experience profound shifts in your relationship with the Divine and with your own inner being.
The sixth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita also emphasizes the importance of breath control and inner stillness as essential tools for spiritual growth and self-realization.
3. Ayurveda
Ayurveda teaches that our food habits play a vital role in channeling and balancing our inner energies. Even the Bhagavad Gita discusses how different types of food influence human nature and spiritual awareness.
According to Ayurveda, maintaining balance among the three doshas — Vata, Pitta, and Kapha — is essential for overall well-being, mental clarity, and even the natural glow of the skin.
Food is classified according to the three gunas (qualities) — Tamas (inertia), Rajas (activity), and Sattva (purity). Understanding which foods align with your unique constitution and energy can help you bring harmony to body, mind, and spirit.
I encourage you to explore more about Ayurvedic nutrition and learn to listen to your gut and body’s signals so you can create balance from within.
4. Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini Yoga is a profound practice that helps awaken all the chakras and elevates your consciousness to a transcendental state. It activates the dormant energy at the base of the spine and guides it upward through each energy center, bringing clarity, vitality, and divine connection. The RAMADASA meditation is especially recommended in Kundalini Yoga, as it harmonizes the mind, body, and spirit while invoking healing energy for yourself and others.
5. Let Your Whole Body Breathe
Allow your entire being to breathe freely. Choose to wear organic, natural fabrics whenever possible — they let your skin and energy field breathe and stay in harmony with nature. When the wind is flowing, step outside, open your arms, and simply feel it. Let the air move through you. This simple yet powerful practice helps release unwanted or stagnant energies and fills your soul with lightness and renewal. It’s incredibly effective in restoring your natural vibration.
6. Aligning with Cosmic Rhythm
Waking up early and sleeping before midnight attunes your body and mind to the cosmic rhythms of nature. The early morning hours carry a subtle spiritual energy that enhances clarity, peace, and inspiration. Living in harmony with these cycles strengthens your alignment with your soul and the greater universe.
7. Connect with Bio-Energy
Introduce yourself to the natural flow of bio-energy, the life force present in all living things. Engage in activities that connect you directly to nature — hug a tree, walk barefoot on the earth (grounding), meditate near flowing water, wander through the woods, or gaze at the stars. Each of these experiences nourishes your energy field, restores balance, and deepens your sense of unity with the cosmos.
